A LITTLE VALIDATION GOES A LONG WAY
I had some exciting news late this summer when I learned I was one of the top five finalists in the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers' 2018 Colorado Gold Contest in the SciFi/Fantasy category. The score sheets and critiques I received from the judges were extremely validating. I'm grateful for the feedback. It's given me a bit of wind in my sails, something every writer needs to keep their butt in the chair and their fingers on the keyboard.
THE MOST AMAZING TWO-AND-A-HALF MINUTES OF MY LIFE
I drove to Nebraska this week to view the total solar eclipse in totality. Click here to read my blog entry about the experience.
WHERE'S TRINITY?
As many of you may know, I've been on a hiatus from music for the last couple years to work on a novel that has been rattling around in my head for over 25 years. Like my music, my writing doesn't fit squarely in a genre. My best guess is this tale will be considered epic fantasy though I choose to call it a "historical re-imagining with supernatural elements." At this point, it appears the "book" will be a trilogy as it has grown considerably now that I'm in the thick of it. I guess that's what I get for letting this world expand in my mind for over half my life. For those of you who are curious, I'm posting the first chapter for a brief period of time. Click here to read it. And yes, there will be a pronunciation guide and a map when it's published. ;-) Thoughts? Feedback? Questions? Feel free to email me: trinity(at)trinitydemask(dot)com.
